Information and Sign-up Meeting Monday August 31, 2020
WELCOME to Cross Country 2020! This season will be memorable for many reasons. Our intention is to make it as meaningful or better as any High School Season you have experienced. We are hopeful you will always remember the 2020 Season with fond memories. Our Goal as a club is to teach you that where there is a will there is a way! This season guarantees that you have a 2020 XC Season! The training will be set up for NOVEMBER and DECEMBER success! That will required patience and seeing the BIG PICTURE of the training and racing schedule. Listen and read carefully each weeks plans and thoughts. They will all glue together as things roll along. The Case HS Girls Team Members KNOW that there is a measured plan and intentional goal to each step along the way!
This season will NOT look like a WIAA Season! We will not be trying to make it look like a HS Cross Country Season. We will need to be a cohesive and geared in team! Taking each workout and meet as they appear. Some meets will be unorganized, others lightly attended, but when we get to November and December, the meets will be BIG TIME! That is why it is so important to be patient and take it week to week!
We are looking forward to a FUN experience! Each of you will be a part of the fun in any way you contribute! That includes your ability, as well as your positive energy, and your personality to bring to the day!
Let’s go SE WI TC!
** CLUB DUES: We do not have a budget! We need funds to take care of Meet Entries, some supplies for workouts and miscellaneous things that come up along the way.
** USATF Membership is REQUIRED to compete for the Club as well as being covered by the LIABILITY INSURANCE RIDER that USATF offers. $25
** AAU Membership is REQUIRED to compete at AAU Nationals and Illinois Meets. $16
** SE WI TC MEMBERSHIP FEE: This covers our USATF CLUB MEMBERSHIP and a Coaching Fees that our coaches deserve for their time and energies to help each member be successful. $39
** MEET ENTRY FEES: Meets that we compete in have entry fees that start at $5 per runner to as much as $20 per runner depending on the meet we attend. $70
** MEET TRAVEL: Some meets will be CAR POOLED with Parent Volunteers. The Coaches my RENT a van for some trips based on the Roster size. To avoid having to add extra AUTO COVERAGE to the Coaches Insurance, we will not take athletes in our Personal Vehicles. MEET TRAVEL will be a KEY FACTOR that we will put together early each week for away meets.
** DAILY WORKOUTS will begin @ 4:15 at Petrifying Springs Park AREA #3 Lot. Coaches will not be arriving until around 4:15. Please be respectful of the area with concerns for other people using the park and any driving safety thoughts.
** WORKOUTS will be completed by 5:45 at the latest on any given day. Starting in November, when Daylight Savings begins. The Schedule will be adjusted to avoid training in the dark. This will be determined in Late October.
** COVID REMINDERS: We are updated regularly with safety protocols. As of August 24th it is determined by the Central Racine Country Health Department (Coach DeWitt is teaching at North Cape and teaching IN PERSON) it is ACCEPTABLE to be outdoors without masking. Social Distancing is still important, but it is noted that being in close proximity for less than 15 minutes indoors or outdoors is currently considered “safe”. NOTE CURRENTLY CONSIDERED. It is still important to keep your hands clean, so bring your own sanitizer. Have your own water. Bring a TOWEL and Dry Clothes for after workouts. If there are other concerns, you may check: crchd.com for more details.
** CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON and FUND RAISING: TRAVEL IN NOVEMBER will required individual funding. We will plan to do some of the things we did as CASE HS XC (car wash, silent auction, wine tasting). We will need the parents help and cooperation to accomplish this. We will have a SE WI TC GEAR FUND RAISER as well this will be set to go in a week.
